Method:The quasi -experiment design was applied in this study. The subjects of this study were two classes of a kindergarten: 27 students in one class as experimental group (14 boys and 13 girls) performed movement education programs of 40 minutes pertime, 12 times within 6 weeks and 27 students in the other class as control group (14 boys and 13girls)don’t carry out movement education programs. The object control subtests of TGMD-2 were performed before and after movement education programs. The subtests include running, galloping, hopping, leaping, jumping and sliding. The collected data was analyzed through independent t-test and one-way analysis of covariance with α = .05 significance level.Results:1.There were statistically significant improvements in total scores of six locomotor movement skills and single subtests (running, galloping, jumping and sliding) (p< .05).2.There was no significant difference of locomotor movement subtest scores between boy and girl young children (p > .05).Conculsion:1.It was statistically significant to promote the abilities of young children on the locomotor movement skills after performing movement education program.2.There was no gender effect on locomotor movement skills of young children after performing movement education program.
