The Internet investigation method was applied to this study. The randomly selected population for this study consisted of 373 vocational high school students who enrolled in the Department of Food & Beverage Management. The questionnaire included the revised version of the Achievement Motivation and Thinking Styles questions. The statistical methods of t-test, one-way ANOVA, two-way ANOVA and Pearson product-moment correlation were used to analyze the data. The results were generated as following: 1.The students with skilled-worker’s license showed better outcomes in Achievement Motivation. 2. The higher level of skill competitions, the more scores of Achievement Motivation the participants had. 3. The students with skilled-worker’s license tended to be more of “executive style of thinking.” 4. The students who attended skill competitions tended to be more of “judicial and legislative styles of thinking.” 5. Significant correlation between Achievement Motivation and Thinking Styles. Implications for education are discussed, and suggestions for future studies are also proposed as conclusions.
