Therefore, the research would collect the relative data about history, interview and visit to analyze the process of the Indian jujube of Yenchao Township and the character of farmers’ management. Hope to explain the culture and farms’ lives of Indian jujube industry in Yenchao Township.
Because of rice surplus in the middle of 1970s’, farmers planted jujube fruits instead of rice. But farmers couldn’t get good price by selling jujube fruit, so lots of farmers planted other kind of fruits instead. And then, new type of jujube fruits, new planting technology, and good price of jujube fruits appeared in the middle of 1990s’. Farmers started to expand the tree yard again after 2000’.Actually, the characters of Indian jujube of Yenchao Township are labor aging, labor decrease and small management. In sale and marketing, farmers do it by themselves and tend to choose various marketing ways.
Farmers in the Yenchao Township have planted Indian jujube fruits over fifty years. As new planting technology appeared, farmers’ lifestyle has changed, too. The influences of farmers’ lives are the change of work time, economic, planting knowledge and the use of computers.
