Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育經營與管理研究所碩士班 === 98 === This research aims to understand the organizational climate of the school and the present situation of the principal leadership behaviors. An elementary school in Tainan city is studied as a case study. Data was collected through interview and questionnaire in order to find out the organizational climate of the school, the principal’s leadership behavior, the gaps of teachers’ perception of the principal leadership behaviors, and the responses from the principal . The main findings are summarized as follows : 1. According to questionnaire results, the case school was closed organizational climate,that was also shown in the interview with the principal and teachers . 2. The principal sensed higher supportive acts, but lower supervisory behavior and interference than teachers perceived. 3. The differences between the principal and teachers might be due to on personal reasons, whether part-time administrative duties as well as the opportunities to contact with the principal, demonstrating different feelings toward the support of principal behavior, monitoring behavior and acts of interference. 4. The responses of the principal toward the teachers’ perceived differences in leadership behavior depended on whether they were responsible to carry out the principal duty will be sustained. Finally, the principal promised further improvements in his leadership, particularly his interaction with teacher . According to the study results of this research, the last part of this thesis is the suggestions for the principal and the teachers of elementary schools and also for the further studies in the future.
