One elementary school in Kaohsiung county was studied as a case study. Data was collected through questionnaire and interview in order to find out the behaviors of principal leadership, the gaps of teachers’ perception, and the response from the principal to teachers’ views regarding principal leadership behaviors from organizational climate theory. The main findings are as follows: 1. The principal’s supportive behaviors and directive behaviors were beyond the level of the teachers’ perception and his restrictive behaviors were hardly sensed by the teachers. 2. The biggest perception gap between the principal and the teachers was about the cooperation of holding activities that were based on the principles of not disturbing students’ learning and teachers’ teaching. The bigger perception gap occurred when the principal was able to adjust administrative operations of the school better and respect the leading authorities of the teachers involved in holding school activities. Though the smaller perception gaps on some other matters, the gaps between the principals’ and teachers’ perception did exist. 3. In responding to teachers’ views, the principal reviewed the leadership behaviors as school principal and was glad to know that he earned some support from the teachers. He promised to improve the gap. But as a leader of a school, he still insisted on his educational philosophy to plan and administer the development of the school in the future. Finally, based on the study results, some suggestions about the leadership behaviors of the principals from the elementary schools, for teachers, and for further studies are proposed in this study.
