Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 材料科學系碩士班 === 98 === This study explores pupils’ attitude and concepts on the experimental manipulation, Pupils’ favorite manipulations were also investigated. Quality method was adopted in this study. Student’s working sheets and the semi-structured interview were used to collect data. The pupils participated in this study are elementary school students in fourth-to-sixth grades in Tainan area. The data collected was analyzed, and the findings of this study are as follows. 1. Higher-grade students adopted more careful attitude to do experimental manipulations. On the other hand, fourth-grade students do experiments with attitudes of fun and challange. 2. Some students holding cautious attitude showed incorrect manipulations probably because of their incompleted concepts and poor skills. 3. Most students think that the correct manipulation is the one that is more secure, and the favorite manipulation is the one that is more interesting. 4. Spontaneous concepts of some students influenced students’ experimental manipulations. Students’ manipulations were also affected with science teaching, especially and sixth-grade students. 5. Some students showed correct manipulations with misconceptions. On the other hand, some students showed incorrect manipulations with incompleted scientific concepts. Different teaching strategies are suggested to students with different manipulation concepts based on the findings.
