This thesis focuses on the following five dimensions: (a) to observe the current situation of elementary math teachers’ classroom management strategies,(b) to observe the current situation of elementary students’ learning adjustment in math classes,(c) to discuss the effect of background variances on elementary student’ learning adjustment, (d) to discuss whether elementary students with differential background variances recognize Math teachers’ classroom management strategies, and (e) to discuss the relation between elementary Math teachers’ classroom management strategies and students’ learning adjustment. Data in this thesis is collected by conducting a questionnaire survey and convenience sampling targeting at sixth graders in an elementary school in Kaohsiung. The questionnaire includes two parts, “Math learning adjustment scales” and “Math teachers’ classroom management strategies questionnaire,” adapted by the conductor. The data collected will be analyzed by Descriptive Statistics, t-test and Pearson product-moment correlation. Based on the analysis and discussion, we propose the following findings: 1.Elementary math teachers’ classroom management strategies are shown to be positive. 2.Elementary students’ learning adjustment in math classes is average and is expected for improvement. 3.Gender variable does not reveal significant effect on students’ learning adjustment although boys show slightly better adjustment than girls. 4.The variable of whether students go to Math cram school reveals no significant effect on students’ learning adjustment although students who go to Math cram school show slightly better adjustment than those who do not. 5. Gender variable reveals no significant effect on students’ recognition of teachers’ classroom management strategies although girls show better recognition than boys. 6.Whether students go to Math cram school does not influence students’ recognition of teachers’ classroom management strategies. 7. A positive relationship between Math teachers’ classroom management strategies and students’ learning adjustment is observed, among which learning environment management strategy is the most related.
