Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 美術學系碩士班 === 99 === After temporary art enters Postmodernism thought, art shows its diverse appearances. On the one hand, it amazes people and endlessly provides artists with references while expanding art field and pursuing pure art. On the other hand, it provides young artists with more choices and opportunities for reflections. Painting resembles a mirror, which reflects artists’ mind and thinking. Through the motif of external representation, painting triggers the emotional world deep within artists. By my experience of getting along with children at work and in daily life, and through interactive observations, this study can be seen as the preliminary exploration of personal creation and uses “child” image to run through an individual’s construction of painting creation and ideas. The purpose that I consider child image as the motif of creation is not to reflect my childhood life. Instead, I intend to explain that childhood can give people the most personal and real feeling. It also offers modern people the most original retrospection and introspection. The structure of this study includes: 1) literature review and theoretical background; 2) creative ideas and applied techniques; and 3) the analysis of work content. By means of these three parts, I hope to construct a completed concept of creation. In the first chapter of introduction, motivation and purpose, methods and procedures, scope and limits of this study are sequentially explained. Chapter two discusses child portraits in Western and Chinese art history, and child images in cross-strait contemporary art. As for chapter three, my creative theme and the construction and techniques of my creative forms are considered. In chapter four, the analysis of personal works is divided into “amusement park”, “mental state of young looks”, and “constraints” to bring back simple and pleasant memories in childhood.
