Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 幼兒教育學系碩士班 === 98 === This study applied action research to evaluate the feasibility and the teaching effectiveness of character education in a private kindergarten. In order to achieve the purpose of research, the picture books which stressed certain character of the children were applied for the purpose of improving children behaviors, some other activities were designed especially for this character education. The subjects of this study were 26 children with the age between 4 to 5. The researcher and the coworker designed 16 units of the character education and some other teaching activities. The core character of this action study were "respect", "care", "responsibility" and "sharing". The researcher collected the experimental data through practical teaching observation records, reflection notes, interviews, and parents feedbacks . The findings of this study are as follows: 1.In terms of character educational curriculum (1)The moral teaching based on the picture books are feasible and effective in the character education of young children. (2)Multiple character activities are popular and could enrich children learning experience. 2.The improvement of children behaviors and the growth of children’s character (1)The children learned how to appreciate and respect others as well as the lesson of waiting. (2)The children learned how to express their love to others and concern the living environments. (3)The children tried hard to finish their own works and showed the responsibility. (4)The children were willing to share with others and cherished their own property as well as others. 3.The implementation of character education in the history of the difficulties encountered and coping responses (1)Flexible adjustment of the effective use of after-school programs and flexible work and rest time in order to promote character education and teaching activities. (2)By reading the review will reflect and enhance the character education collaborative researchers cognition and teaching ability. (3)Invite parents to participate in character education course for parents of character education recognition. Based on the results of this study, the researcher provided some suggestions for the future study and to other educators who are interested in applying the character education to their kindergartens.
