Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士在職專班 === 98 === The purpose of this study was to explore the degree of requirements and satisfaction of parents participated in dentification,placement, and service delivery for the students with disabilities in elementary school of Taichung city. The differences in degree of requirements and satisfaction among parents of different background variables were also investigated.
The research method was based on questionnaires, targeted to parents of the children with disabilities in elementary school of Taichung city. Three hundred and fifty questionnaires were sent. Two hundred and sixty-two returned questionnaires were valid.One-way ANOVA test, t-test, Scheffé method were used for data analysis. Data was expressed as frequencies, percentages, mean and standard deviations. Supportive information from interviews was also included.
The results were summarized as follows:
1. The parent’s perceptions on the participation in the identification, placement, and service delivery were ranked as “ much need ” . " Placement " scored the highest average in the questionnaire scoring, while " service delivery " scored the lowest.
2. Parents were satisfied with participation in the identification, placement, and service delivery. " Identification " scored the highest average in the questionnaire scoring, while " service delivery " scored the lowest.
3. Parents had significant higher requirements than satisfaction in the dimensions of " identification ", " placement " and " service delivery ".
4. Significant difference was only observed in subscales of " identification " , it showed the degree of requirements from one of the parents as foreign spouse was higher than parents were born in Taiwan.
5. One significant difference was observed in the subscale of " placement" in different ademic degree background of parents, parents with senior high scored higher degree than those of college degree. Another significant difference was also observed in all of subscales in different placement of children, parents of child placed in homebound education scored higher degree than those of children placed in other kinds of special education.
Based on the results of this research, the author proposed several suggestions for the Bureau of Education, school executive units, teachers in general education classes,parents of children with disabilities and future investigators.
