碩士 === 國立台北護理學院 === 護理研究所 === 98 === The purpose of this study was exploring the used factor of chemical restraint in intensive care unit. It was cross-sectional design with purposive sampling, from December, 15th 2009 to March 15th 2010. The data had collected from two Medical centers and five intensive care unit in each hospital. The total number of intensive care unit medical personnel was 227, patient was 75. The questionnaire included medical personnel demographics , the chemical restraint knowledge, the chemical restraint attitude, the chemical restraint self-efficacy, the patient’s demographics. One enrolled colletion the patient demographics by chart review and to measure patient’s Glasgow Coma Scale, agitation behavior, muscle power of hands . The data was analyzed by SPSS 17.0 statistic software. This study explored the chemical restraint in patient’s Glasgow Coma Scale, agitation behavior, endo tubing, tube therapy was different. The analysis discovery by logistic regression： agitation behavior, Glasgow Coma Scale, endo tubing, hospital are chemical restraint’s predictive factor. The resulted of this study can improve the medical personnel of intensive care unit focus on chemical restraint, a safety and fit in with ethics care plan for the intensive care unit patient to be put in place.
