Those industries are all technology-intensive and based on R&D; consequently, the most important problem that enterprises face is how to stand out around the highly competitve environment. In fact, firms have to innovate constantly to create their characteristic for sustaining competitive advantage and to reduce the possibility of imitation or replacement. However, innovation often is a complex process across organizations and domains. For example, high-tech industry has gradually moved toward the cross-functional work team and collaborative research among industry, government and academia. Unfortunately, there are some problems of communication among different domains, and non-standard systems among organizations. It will be able to promote learning and sharing across knowledge boundaries to enhance innovation and firm performance if we make ontological commitments. This study discusses the problems that enterprises face; meanwhile, it proposes solutions. Data were collected from electronic industry, biotechnology industry and informatics industry, and analyzed using CFA and regression.
