We find out that farmers have good and positive literacy toward disaster prevention. Those of the following features have better understanding of agricultural disaster prevention and higher cognitions of its policy: male, college degree, annual agricultural revenue of above NT$2 million, once received assistance payments for agricultural disaster, once applied for low-rate agricultural loans. Those of the following features have a higher degree of satisfaction with agricultural disaster prevention and relief policy: female, high school diploma, annual agricultural revenue of NT$300,000 or less, never received assistance payments for agricultural disaster, never applied for low-rate agricultural loans. Those farmers aged between 41 to 50 and had been typhoon victims have the best performance at the three dimensions: literacy for disaster prevention, cognitions of agricultural disaster prevention and relief policy, and degree of satisfaction with the policy. Any two of the three—literacy for disaster prevention, cognitions of agricultural disaster prevention and relief policy, and degree of satisfaction with the policy—have significant position correlation. We suggest that the organizations concerned actively promote education on disaster prevention, enhance policy advocacy, and promote policy on agricultural insurance to reach the goal of preventing and reducing disasters and recovering quickly.
