Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 農園生產系所 === 98 === Abiu (Pouteria caimito Radlk) was introduced into Taiwan 20 years ago. It still limited production in Taiwan. Abiu is commonly propagated by seed and there is great variation in seedlings. The experimental results show that plants can be divided into three main types: upright, spreading and shrub. Leaves can be distinguished by size, shape, margin, leaf base and tip, color, vertical position, and petiole length. Flower number, size, shape and male sterility can be distinguished for classification. Fruits can be distinguished by size, shape, fruit shoulder, stylar end, skin color, skin smoothness, skin thickness, flesh color, texture, total soluble solids content, percent of flesh, and aroma of fruit. Seeds can be classified by seed shape, seed coat color and hilum position. Fruit quality, average weight, yield, total soluble solids, fruit flesh, fragrance, skin color, texture, were investigated for selection of large fruit with good characteristics. Clones 58-36、46-9、59-1 which fit the standards were selected. Net houses are widely used for fruit crops in Taiwan to protect plants from pests and variation of environments. However, pollination may be a problem in net house. In September Bees, and flies were released into the nethouse, to compare the yield and fruit quality of abiu in net house. Bees and flies released inside the net house significantly increased the number of fruits and yield. The fruit quality was not different among all treatments.
