Each people who live here have their own unique cultures, and all these cultures have influenced each other, creating a new one. As time went by , the beauty and meaning of the old folk art were ignored by new generation, and faded gradually. Due to the enthusiasm toward cultures, this artwork was based on “memory”. The painter tried to find her own roots , to rebuild the feeling of her hometown, to express love toward her birth place, and recall the good memories of her childhood. I、Motivation: This artwork was focused on the records of simple folk culture and the heritage passed down by our ancestors. The painter used the glue painting, the one she is familiar with, and traditional art of paper-cut to express her deepest love toward this land. II、Research By field investigation, it helped observe and study the seasonal customs and cultural roots of Taiwan ,and then applied cultural anthropology to prove the relationship between natural phenomena of a season and people daily life. With data collection, it helped the painter learn more about the aspects of aesthetics in different period of time, especially figures and colors related to seasonal phenomena. III、Appreciation Contents:There are four series, which are ”Warmth”, ”Old Legends ”, ”Auspiciousness” , and “Succession”. Skills:The painter used colored glue as painting material, and silk and paper as background. IV、Future (1)Broaden the glue painting field, and develop the characteristics of oriental aesthetics.
