In Taiwan, because its small home market, many enterprises have started to launch their internationalization strategy to set up their global configurations and hence this study aims to investigate the determinants of the equity percentages of the entry modes utilized by these companies.
This study used 142 companies of service industries as the research target. The data was collected from Market Observation Post System and Taiwanbusiness.
The service industries comprise seven categories, including finance, distribution, department store, hospitality, shipping, letting agent.
The results reveal that the equity percentages of the entry modes utilized by the company is positively correlated to the subsidiary’s local operations experiences (company factors), local market potential (local environment factors) and local market size (local environment factors), but is negatively associated with the company’s scale (company factors).
