A Survey Study of Motivation and Constraint among Hikers of Chaishan in Kaohsiung City

碩士 === 高雄師範大學 === 體育學系 === 98 === The aim of the study was to analyze the different background characteristics of the hikers of Chaishan in Kaohsiung City about their motivation and constraint. I developed the questionnaire as a tool, 558 valid questionnaire were retrieved, and the rate of the recovery is 91.18%. This study applied descriptive analysis, t-test for independent samples, one-way ANOVA to analyze the collected data. The conclusions of the study were as follows: 1. Most of the hikers of Chaishan were male, got married, aged 41-60,college degreed being employees of industrial, commercial, government, service industry, living in both Kaohsiung county and city. The average of visiting Chaishan was 2~3 times per month. 2. The motivations toward healthy need among the hikers of Chaishan in Kaohsiung City was positive, but the others were not. 3. All of constraints among the hikers of Chaishan in Kaohsiung City was below “common degree”, it revealed that all of the constraints couldn’t block the hikers to go hiking in Chaishan. 4. Four background varieties, such as marriage, age, level of education, and the everage of frequency of hiking on Chaishan per month, made significant differences in motivations. 5. Finally, based on the findings above, suggested the relevant department of Kaohsiung Government or other organizations should aim at inadequacies to improve, and promote hiker’s motivation. Moreover, for future studies, it was recommended that aim different suburban mountain of nation-wide, different mountain kinds, dependent variables, or in-depth interview.
