Description
Summary:碩士 === 高雄師範大學 === 輔導與諮商研究所 === 98 === The purpose of the research was to investigate what transpersonal oriented therapists’ life courses, the abbreviation of “Transpersonal oriented Therapy”, are and what meaning their life course had brought to them taking their retrospections as the main focus. Narrative method was employed based on an interview guideline, and the resulting data was collected from the narrative of two interviewees with over 15-year professional experiences in transpersonal oriented therapy. In the process of narrative and retrospection, their life courses and the personal meaning are revealed. The “holistic-content” analysis was used, i.e., the researcher repeatedly read the narrative transcript and the researcher’s notes, extracted the life course and meaning. The research finding is that the life course of the interviewees’ can be divided into 5 steps as “integrating oneself”, “moving toward consciousness awakening”, “healing in relationships”, “returning to Center”, and “becoming one with Self”. On the meanwhile, three personal meanings gained from the life course are, “self healing”, “becoming one with the Divine” and “returning to one’s true self”. And the last three implications are as followed. First, psychotherapy and spiritual development should be undertaken together to complement each other. Second, hardships may lead to spiritual transformation. Third, the life course of transpersonal oriented consular is a spiritual developing process. Fourth, spiritual experiences can deepen the identification with spirit and bring the counseling work to a spiritual level. Fifth, counselor’s attitude is the most important aspect in Transpersonal oriented therapies. At last, the researcher proposes aiming at future research.
