On the basis of the purposive and snowball sampling approaches, 421 valid samples were acquired from either the single male or female at the age of 18 to 40, living in Taipei County and City, Taoyuan County, Hsinchu County and City, Tainan County and City, Kaohsiung County and City, and Pingtung County. The quantitative data benefits from the Individual Traditionality Scale, the Individual Modernity Scale, the Sex Role Scale, and the Marital Attitude Scale. The research findings resulted from the statistics methods of frequent distribution, t-test of independent samles, chi-square test, one-way and two-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. It is concluded as follows: 1. The unmarried male has more significant potential of “Individual traditionality” than the female, and more positive marital attitude. 2. Both the unmarried male and the female in the northern area of Taiwan have more positive marital attitude than those in the south. 3. Attitude toward marriage of single male and female is positively correlated with the overall individual tradition. For example, either the “Filial piety and Ancestral worship” or the “Male Dominance” has positive correlation with the marital attitude, but the “Fatalism and Superstition”. 4. The "Independent" has the convinced impact to the marital attitude; on the contrary, the "Internal control orientation" has negative impact to the marital attitude. 5. The sex/gender role orientation of single male and female is based on "undifferentiated", and the sex and gender role orientation type of single male, and female is "undifferentiated" for many ; the single men of “androgynous” have more positive marital attitude. 6. The "Filial piety and Ancestral worship", the "Male Dominance", the "Fatalism and “Superstition", the "Independent", and the "Internal control orientation" have significantly influences on one’s marital orientation. The academic work hopes to propose further progress on the field of studies, the sex-education and home-education worker, and future studies. It is concluded as follows:
1. The unmarried male has more significant potential of “Individual traditionality” than the female, and more positive marital attitude.
2. Both the unmarried male and the female in the northern area of Taiwan have more positive marital attitude than those in the south.
