Summary: | 碩士 === 高雄師範大學 === 教育研究所 === 98 === The main purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between work stress and parent-child relationship among married female elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung area. Adopting documentary analysis and questionnaire survey, the researcher used “Work Stress Scale” and “Parent-child Relationship Scale” as main research instruments. With random sampling, the study focused at married female elementary school teachers as population. The effective samples were 384 out of 400 questionnaires administered by the researcher.
The collected data were analyzed by way of the software package SPSS 12.0 for windows, including t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe’method , Pearson’s product-moment correlation , Canonical correlation and Stepwise multiple regressions.
Finding from the analysis are summarized as follows:
1. The perceived work stress of married female elementary school teachers is under average level. Specifically, the highest degree of work stress was “Teaching work”.
2. The perceived parent-child relationship of married female elementary school teachers is above average level. Specifically, the highest degree of parent-child relationship was “Intimate feeling”.
3. Married female teachers aging from 31 to 40 have more work stress than others.
4. There are not significant differences founded in the elementary school teachers’ parent-child relationship in terms of personal background.
5. High-leveled work stress could be predicted by the parent-child relationship.
According to above conclusions, some suggestions are listed as follows.
1. For married female teachers of elementary school
(1)Find the better way to control time and relax work stress.
(2)Enhance families’ happiness and bring up good parent-child relationship in more open-minded communication.
2. For the elementary school administration
(1)Afford reducing-stress classes and strategy for the younger or teachers with higher work stress .
(2)Distribute work equally for different aged or gender teachers.
(3)Establish the rotation rule of guide-teacher duty for different aged or gender teachers.
3. For the government and educational administration
(1)Indexes of school evaluation should be simplified to lessen the burden of teaching staff.
(2)Provide more baby day-care service to balance motherhood and work loading.
