Summary: | 碩士 === 高雄師範大學 === 科學教育研究所 === 98 === The purpose of this study was to investigate three secondary school teachers’ belief and instructional practice of the Web-based Inquiry Science Environment (WISE), and the relationships between teachers’ belief and instructional practice. Data collected included: pre- and post-instruction interviews, classroom observation notes and video tapes. The three cases in this study present teachers with different teaching experience. The results showed that the three teachers’ beliefs of the Web-based Inquiry Science Environment (WISE) were different. Ms. Ou’s belief focused on learning procedure for different learning. Mr. Sun’s belief focused on learning of science concepts. Mr. Chi’s belief focused on learning through science inquiry. It was found that the teachers’ beliefs are consistent with their instructional practices. Ms. Ou followed the learning procedure she planed. Mr. Sun provided guidance that focused on promoting student understanding of the scientific concepts. Mr. Chi encouraged students to conduct inquiry and let fewer whole-class discuss. The results provide insights into the variation of implementing the Web-based Inquiry Science Environment.
