Summary:碩士 === 高雄師範大學 === 成人教育研究所 === 98 === The Study on the Relationship between Role Perception and Work Efficiency of the Fire Prevention Managers in Kaohsiung City Summary This study was aimed to research the relationship between the role perception and work efficiency of the fire prevention managers in Kaohsiung City within the field of fire prevention management job. The objects of this research were 354 fire prevention managers serving in various sites in Kaohsiung City as the samples to conduct the survey by questionnaires. The tool used for the research was "Questionnaires on the Relationship between Role Perception and Work Efficiency of the Fire Prevention Managers in Kaohsiung City”, which consisted of three parts: “Personal Background Information”, “Role Perception Scale” and “Work Efficiency Scale”. 100% of total 354 questionnaires were retrieved. After screening, excluding 22 invalid questionnaires, a total of 332 valid questionnaires were retrieved with 93.8% valid responding rate. The statistical methods used in this study are Descriptive Statistics, Pearson Correlation, Independent Sample t Test, Analysis Of Variance (ANOVA), and Two-factor ANOVA. After empirical analysis and discussion, the conclusions from this study were as follows: 1.Out of the current fire prevention managers serving in various sites in Kaohsiung City, 75% are males and only 25% are females. Among those fire prevention managers, there are 64% with above college education backgrounds, 44% with above middle level chief positions, 37% with fire control experience, and after taking the fire prevention management job, 15% of them got salary increment and 12% got job promotion. 2.The current feelings on “Role Perception” of the fire prevention managers in Kaohsiung City are above moderate level, and the most obvious role perception is “Manager”. 3.The current feelings on “Work Efficiency” of the fire prevention managers in Kaohsiung City are above moderate level, and the most obvious work efficiency is “Capability to achieve targets”. 4.With regard to the perceiving levels of “Role of Executor”, “Overall Role Perception”, and “Work Efficiency”, the fire prevention mangers with director positions are higher than those of non-director positions significantly. 5.With regard to the perceiving levels of “Role of Executor”, “Overall Role Perception”, and “Work Efficiency”, the fire prevention mangers with fire control experience, salary increment, and job promotion are higher than those without fire control experience, salary increment, and job promotion obviously. 6.It shows a moderate to high level positive correlation between the role perception and work efficiency of the fire prevention managers in each and overall levels. The study shows the fact that the higher the role perception level is, the better the work efficiency is presented. 7.For the fire prevention managers in different organizations as well as with different role perceptions, their work efficiency in each level and overall feelings are consistent, and are also showing interaction relationship.
