Questionnaire investigation method is applied to attain research intention. The subjects are junior high school students in Kaohsiung city and county. The mean of study is the “investigation questionnaire of vocational expectations” which is developed from references. The vocational expectations are induced to eight facors by exploratory factor analysis, including (1) working environment, (2) welfare, (3) reputation, (4) promotion, (5) location, (6) advanced study, (7) stabilization of life, and (8) regular pattern of job. Through the organization of data and statistical analysis, the inclusions and findings of this study are as follows: 1. Junior high school students have the highest vocational expectation on “working environment,” the next highest on “promotion,” and the lowest expectation on “stabilization of life.” Synthetically, they have higher vocational expectation on the eight factors of entire questionnaire. 2. There are significant differences between male and female students on “working environment” and “stabilization of life” and no significant differences on other factors. 3. There are significant differences among students of different academic achievement on “working environment,” “reputation,” “location,” “advanced study,” “regular pattern of job,” and “the entire questionnaire.” 4. There are significant differences among students of diverse parental education degrees on “working environment,” “reputation,” “promotion,” “advanced study,” and “the entire questionnaire.” 5. Urban students have significantly higher expectations than rural students on “working environment,” “welfare,” “reputation,” “promotion,” “advanced study,” and “the entire questionnaire.” The researcher provides further suggestions to junior high school students’ vocational expectation and career development according the study results.
