Currently, a reliable cost estimate model is not available. In this study, a questionnaire is collected and the neural network method is used to predict the project cost and schedule. The objects of the questionnaire are the experts of experienced software analysts and project managers. Questionnaire mainly contains the project’s functional points and the actual completion time and cost (person-months) according to the past software projects. This study uses neural network to analyze the collected data from questionnaire and to establish a reliable cost estimation model for validation.
