Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄海洋科技大學 === 海洋生物技術研究所 === 97 === The effects of Chinese medicine on improving the probiotic functions of Bacillus subtilis (BS) are investigated on the aquaculture of South American white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). The probiotic functions on nitrogenous waste removal (ammonia and nitrite nitrogen), growth and immunity factors of shrimp are analyzed. Experiments have been carried out through 3 directions: (1) screening of effectual Chinese medicine; (2) exploring the optimum condition for water treatment; (3) aquaculture experiment of South American white shrimp. The results show that Astragalus membranaceus (AM) can enhance the waste removal capability of BS and the mixture is named as BS-AM. Its optimum conditions of nitrogenous waste treatment are under 25~30℃and salinity 0~25 psu with BS-AM ratio of 1:10 to treat 0~5 mg/L ammonia or 0~50 mg/L nitrite nitrogen. Under this removal (25℃ and salinity 10 psu) for 24 hours, the degradation rates are up to 90% and 100% when the initial concentrations of ammonia and nitrite nitrogen are 1~2 mg/L and 0~10 mg/L, respectively. After 11-weeks breeding, the biological growth indicators (current deposit rates, growth rates and for the meat factor) and the immune factors (phagocytic activity, antimicrobial activity, lysozyme activity, phenol oxidase activity) of BS-AM group are significantly higher than control group (P <0.05). With high efficient treatment of nitrogenous wastewater, promotion of shrimp growth and improvement of immunity, BS-AM do have a good performance in aquaculture of South America white shrimp.
