Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立宜蘭大學 === 資訊工程研究所碩士班 === 98 === A sensor/ad hoc network typically consists of battery-powered sensor devices with limited communication capabilities over wireless channels. The unique nature of these networks poses various technological challenges to system design. On the other hand, sensor networks comprise one of the most important building blocks for various context-aware computing and emerging smart home technologies. In this thesis, we introduce the concept of middleware into sensor networks. Moreover, we show how mobile agents over the built-in middleware Agilla could largely reduce communications cost and energy consumption of a typical wireless sensor network. Last but not least, we propose a fault-tolerance mechanism for distributed mobile agent coordination. We believe that the presented concept and techniques would advance the development of future living environment based on sensor networks.
