The results showed potential use in both per-emergence herbicides and post-emergence herbicide. Diuron and Butachlor gave good weed control with neglectable crop toxicity on 5 Zephyranthes species among 8 pre-emergence herbicides. The vegetative growth of treated plants showed no difference from those of hand weeded counterparts. The selective broad-leaved herbicide Bentazon and Cyclosulfamuron were the most effective ones among 14 post-emergence herbicide in terms of weed control and vegetative growth. To lower the dose (100%、50%、25%、12.5%)of non-selective post-emergence herbicide Paraquat and Glyphosate did alleviate the crop toxicity and gave better vegetative growth, nevertheless lower the effects of weed at the same time, further more, the growth was worse than the hand-weeded control group. To change the dose of selective post-emergence herbicide Bentazon and Cyclosulfamuron(200%、100%、50%)might control the Bidens pilosa var. radiata without noticeable harm on 4 Zephyranthes species, and their vegetative growth responded differently. Bentazon performed best by recommended dose while 200% and 50% Cyclosulfamuron showed better results on Z. candida、Z. citrina、Z. rosea. Both herbicides showed negative result on vegetative growth of Z. carinata. Application of pre- emergence herbicide followed by post-emergence herbicide showed Butachlor and Bentazon were the best combination for 5 Zephyranthes species. Addition of Cyclosulfamuron also gave good results for Z. candida、Z. citrina、Z. “Ajax” with good weed control. Field experiment showed Diuron and Cyclosulfamuron might control weed up to 3 months without negative effects on plant growth and flowering. Changing planting density showed potential on weed control. Further, denser planting gave higher bulb yield and more flowers although each bulb gave lower proliferation rate.
