Summary:碩士 === 國立花蓮教育大學 === 國民教育研究所 === 98 === The aim of the study is to investigate the progress of character education integrating into reading activities. The object to the study is to bring reading activities with value clarifications for the fifth grader in elementary school into practice, and to evaluate these purposes according to action research, which are as follows: 1.How to promote students’ motivation in reading? 2.How to assist students and let them be involved into the situation of character (or moral) problems? 3.Will students promote their character perception through reading activities? 4.What are the limitations of character education integrating into reading activities? 5.Through the analysis in sound-recording, researcher’s note in observation, and interviews with the homeroom teacher; this research draw the conclusions as below: Value clarification places an important role on students’ abilities of being judgmental and to critical. But it would lower the effectiveness if students’ do not acquire these abilities. This study indeed promotes the motivation in reading, and students did show more willingness through the process. The reading material is better with multimedia (resources) to keep the individuals highly motivated. Respecting students’ opinion will help building the trust between teacher and students. To sum up, the result of this study can offer some suggestion for coming research.
