Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 人資處輔導教學碩士班 === 98 === Parents’ experience about their autistic children’s early intervention Abstract Many researches had proofed that early intervention could make the autistic children’s problems less and the social cost lower. The process of early invention is a big challenge for most parents because they have to know where were the social resources, how to connect to each organization and how to combine all the resources together. Therefore, the rapport relationship between parents and early intervention organizations is important for the pre-school autistic children to get timely intervention. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the interaction between autistic children’s parents and early intervention organizations, how the intervention and interaction experience affected the families, and what’s the difficulties the autistic children’s families met during the process. 5 autistic children’s parents who have first-grade autistic children experiencing early intervention were interviewed. The interviews were recorded and transcribed. By open coded these data, these parents’ experience can be grouped into themes. Based on the data analyses, the major results of the study were summarized as follows: 1. It is a from-unknown-to-known process for parents to accept their children with autistism. 2. The parents faced the facts and learned how to help their autistic children. They understood that active participation and continuous communication and cooperation with the early intervention team were the key to get the progress. 3. Early intervention changed the way their lives, and they should learn to adapt to it. 4. Either the visible or invisible supports can help autistic children’s parents to overcome the difficulties they met. Finally, suggestions based on the study are proposed for the future research, early intervention team worker and autistic children’s parents.
