Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 人資處教育行政碩士專班 === 98 === Through the process of action research, the study aimed to find out whether the students of class 6A in Bao-shih Primary School enhanced their reading comprehension ability by applying reading comprehension strategies to newspaper in education (NIE). Besides, the researcher resolved the difficulties she encountered by continuous dialogues and reflections. The study used action research methods. The survey subjects were 21 students of class 6A in Bao-Shih Primary School. The researcher taught reading comprehension by using reading comprehension strategies, such as highlighting, summary, taking notes and mind mapping. Following the recycle of “aware ↔ know↔ act↔ reflect”, the researcher continually reflected and gave feedbacks before the practice of the programs, during the practice of the programs, and after the practice of the programs. On the basis, some knowledge was created for the reference of the next phase of action. From the study, the researcher obtained the following conclusions: A.Reading comprehension strategies and teaching effectiveness (A)Reading comprehension strategy instruction could cause widespread student interest (B) The majority of students progress in reading comprehension ability (C) Integrating reading comprehension strategy into language teaching techniques and material design to improve the problem that the researcher faced B. The design of reading comprehension strategy instruction program (A) Students’ reading comprehension has significant and continuous growth (B) Students have more confidence in reading comprehension (C) Most students prefer mind mapping strategies (D) Students like the teaching activity of mind mapping. C. Action research on reading comprehension (A) Researcher’s reading comprehension strategies of action research has been greatly enhanced . (B)The reading comprehension ability of the teacher and students has been enhanced through the practice of the action research of reading comprehension strategy. (C)Good student-teacher interaction and curriculum design are the important conditions for success of the action research.
