Both the government and enterprises have already invested in related resources for EC services; besides, the academic communities also focus on the development of a variety of EC issues. Many scholars adopt the method of content analysis or subjective induction to propose a few categories and frameworks about EC, but a static top-down outcome. That is very lack for exploring the down-up association between EC networks dynamically, which is also very important for EC research. This paper uses KeyGraph, a chance discovery tool, to present the issue network of the EC research and explore the effectiveness of using the professional lexicon in EC filed. This research collected 3,273 articles from theses and dissertations in Taiwan, the result shows that most domestic EC studies are focused on a variety of transaction modes (e.g., e-Market, online shop) and emphasis on their service quality (e.g., customer relationship management, trust). The research behind those issues focus on the topic of resource integration (e.g., enterprise resource planning, electronic data exchange) and the application of information technology (e.g., mobile agent, public key infrastructure, signature verification, and data mining). In addition, the construction of professional lexicon based on text mining can surely improve in the short term problems in the Chinese word segmentation system, and it also can extract the terms that fit the research subject effectively. This study also divides the EC issues into three stages and examines the tendency of EC. The result of this study may be helpful for the investment of the academic researchers or a reference basis of the enterprises when they intend to participate in EC.
