Description
Summary:碩士 === 國防醫學院 === 護理研究所 === 98 === The military education is a foundation of the national defence. Cadets need to participate in the combined recruit training, and enter the military school through training. Chan(2008)found that trainees’ hardiness was improved in the eighth week of the training, but trainees’ hardiness was decreased in the sixth month after the training. The purpose of this study was to explore the long term effects of combined recruit training on cadets’ hardiness, and the relationships among hardiness with stress perception and coping behaviors This study was a longitudinal research design. The subjects were recruited from the cadets receiving combined recruit training of R.O.C Military Academy at the third week, eighth week, and the second to sixth month after the training during 1st July, 2009 to 28st February , 2010. The Structured questionnaires were used to collect data at the third week, eighth week, and third month after training. The questionnaires included demographic characteristics, hardiness scale, stress perception scale and coping behavior scale. The SPSS for Windows 17.0 was used for data analysis. The statistical methods included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Generalized Estimating Equations was examined. P-value less than .05 was considered to be the statistically significant level. The results showed that trainees’ hardiness was improved at the eighth week of the training, and the second to fourth month after the training. In the fifth and sixth month after the training, it was found that trainees’ hardiness was decreased. The higher hardiness, the stronger the ability to stress perception and coping behavior would be. The related factors of hardiness were the property of campus life, sex, understanding and acceptability of military academy life and reason for joining military academy. The findings of this study suggest that every military school can match up relevant scales to assess cadets’ physical, psychological and social demands regularly. It should provide the individualized consulting earlier for the questionable cadets, and assist to meet the life of the military school as soon as possible.
