碩士 === 國防醫學院 === 公共衛生學研究所 === 98 === Chronic kidney disease(CKD) has been in 10 leading causes of deaths in Taiwan, and become a serious concern of human health for years. Medical expenditure and resources comsumption of CKD are enormous. In recent years, Taiwan government has initiated CKD prevention plans, with the goal to reduce the hazards of CKD. Environmental and occupational exposures are important risk factors to health, which may cause pollution in our living and work places, causing the deterioration of CKD. Therefore, this study tried to find the relation between environmental and occupational exposure with CKD, which was a case-control study, using self-constructing questionnaire and purposeful sampling.Chronic kidney disease patients were 1500 in total, coming from 12 hospitals in Taiwan, to assess the exposures among CKD patients. The results showed that the risk factor in CKD is drinking groundwater as comparing to the high risk group (OR=1.842) and the health control group (OR=2.854).In addition, those who worked in industries or ore might have deteriorated CKD as comparing to the CKD stage I and stage II (OR=1.986).
