Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 環境政策研究所 === 98 === The purposes of this research are to examine management issues of an nonprofit organization, located at Hualien, called “Habitat Conservation Society for Hualien”. This research is a qualitative research and conducted by series of in-depth interview on core decision makers, participants and consultants. The interview questionnaires is designed based on the theory of Clients–Operation-Resources-Participant-Service, CORPS, developed by Dashein Sutu (1999). This interviews start from March to July 2010. The research scope also includes the operational history of the society since 2004. The foci are client, operation, resources, participants, and service (CORPS) and core decision makers of the society. The second purpose is to explore future strategies that might be used for resolving the difficulties of the society, based on the results of the interview, field observation and perspectives of professors who help this society since it was found. After analysis of five perspectives of the society, the researcher found that it has many profound operational details are worthy of appraise. The leader has not give up and kept his believe, despite that it faced serious difficulties. His consistent believe look like a double edge knife, but it may also a restrain to its development. This research found that the society although have many unique characteristics, it also faces many management issues such as human resources, finance, administration and knowledge management. Analysis of the SWOT shows despite that the society has faced many weaknesses and threats, still owns many opportunities to develop. This research suggests that it shall not be deviating itself from its original service ideologies and consistently work toward self-sufficiency. By which it may overcome its difficulties.
