A well-designed hospitality ethics course could help students resolve ethical dilemma they might confronted at work. In Taiwan, there are only nine colleges which offer hospitality ethics courses at the present time, however, there is no general agreement about the title and contents of these courses. In order to understand the views of students toward various hospitality ethical issues, which might serve as a reference for future curriculum design. The current study used questionnaire survey to investigate 707 students from Taiwan’s five major areas about their perception toward the importance of various hospitality related ethical issues. The questionnaire was developed firstly from the literature review, scale developed by Dufrene & Daniel(1990), Young(2004), and other related literature were reviewed by 43 experts from both the academia and the industry. The scale was modified for the pilot test and after rigid validity and reliability tests, final version of the survey was completed. The result indicates that the most important hospitality ethical issue from the students’ perception is “sexual harassment on the job”, and the least important issue is “bypass the immediate leadership”. The most important factor is “business image”, and the least important factor is the “private interest of employees”. Difference such as age, work experience, practical training experience, having taken ethics course, and having received hospitality related ethical information at work, have significant difference on some dimensions. The results of this study might have implication to future design of hospitality ethics programs. Finally, limitation and suggestions for future research were identified for future reference.
