It was aimed to manifest various image and related experience in career through presentation of participants’ experience of occupational transition and acquire career meaning through career imagination in the transition process. Results of this research were trilateral: i) Career images: from external experience of occupational transition, all three participants had developed career BOK (body of knowledge) which included: 1) acquisition of working skills and professional knowledge is essential to workers’ adaptation to workplace, 2) from practical content of work to cultivate work attitude, 3) accumulation of workplace experience establishes working style, and 4) career plan is structured through retrospection of work value. ii) Career imaginations: three participants’ occupational transitional process demonstrated the dynamic and proactive characteristic of imagination, assisting integration of each individual’s internal value and social experience and transforming such integration into meaning of life. Brief explanations were as follow, 1) the dynamic characteristics of imagination: internal and external experience, feelings and thought can be connected even with estrangement of time and space and sense of control and stability remains despite change of occupations, and 2) the proactive characteristics of imagination: through integration of professional career experience, individual core idea can be established, meaning of life bestowed, and sense of hopefulness for one’s career acquired: a) individual job demand is specified, b) purpose of work is clarified, and c) core working value is established. iii) Functions of career imagination when applied to occupational transition: according to research result, career imagination of three participants were consistent with their occupational transition, and the impacts of said imagination to participants’ career development were as follow: 1) cultivation of individual’s professionalism, 2) increase of individual’s adaptability at work place and problem solving ability, 3) assistance to individual’s establishment of occupational and career system, and 4) strengthened stability of individual’s career planning.
