Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 數學教育研究所 === 98 === The main purpose of this study was to explore in-service junior high school mathematics teachers’ principles of selecting textbooks and the situation of using them. Therefore, this study adopted qualitative research methods, interviewing 11 junior high school teachers to interpret their point of view of mathematics textbooks; at the same time, two subjects’ teaching conditions were also observed and interviewed. Results show that the main consideration for teachers to select textbooks is "the content". Items they value most are: whether they conform with the Competence Indicators or Benchmarks, whether they conform with students’ mental development, content arrangement, diversity of learning activities. The teachers’ second consideration is the "surrounding support from the publisher". However, "the Editor's concepts" and "the layouts" are not the focus of the teachers’ evaluation. Results also show that, as for the use of textbooks, both teachers (one in grade 7 and the other in grade 8) depended on textbooks while teaching with a dependency degree of over 85%.
