and productivity of passengers and goods, air pollution, and energy consumption.
With the growing container volumes handled by the port of Kaohsiung,
container-hauling trucks have played an important role in the port transportation. The
significantly increased truck traffic has caused congestion on the port access routes
and created an operational challenge.
This research uses actual road geometric characteristics and vehicular traffic
characteristics information and collect, for the road network of roads around
Kaohsiung, using PARAMICS simulator software for parameter calibration,
verification and practical application, and various pricing. This research has obtained
the following outcomes: (1) Filing those geometric characteristics, O-D trips, and
traffic management and control data of Kaohsiung Port with PARAMICS compatible
data format. (2) Calibrating drivers’ behavior parameters of PARAMICS. (3) In the
different pricing mode, using speed, delay time, the LOS, and total income, whether
the implementation of the fee as a reference.
