Secondly, we also want to understand the connection and influence among individuals, family, the relationship of subjects and their mothers-in-law and the parenting self-efficacy. A total of 266 mothers who are from Vietnam and have kindergarten or elementary age children in Chang-hua area served as the subjects. These questionnaire proceeded with item analysis and factor analysis. Gained the high validity and reliability. The study used frequency distribution, ANOVA analysis, Pearson correlation analysis and regression analysis to describe the subjects’ personal and family situation and to examine the related variables. The findings were as following: 1.The age difference between the subjects and their spouses is large and their education level and family incomes are relatively low. 2.The contact frequency of subjects and their mothers-in-law is an important factor of [Support and Satisfaction] and [Conflict and Power].With higher frequency of contact with their mothers-in-law, the subjects feel more support and affirmation from their mothers-in-law. However, the higher frequency of contact with their mothers-in-law also causes more. conflict with their mothers-in-law. 3. The relationship of subjects and their mothers-in-law is an important factor influencing the parenting self-efficacy. The [Support and Satisfaction] relationship enhances their confidence of parenting and the [Conflict and Power] relationship not only lowers their confidence of parenting but also generates the negative evaluation for the role as mothers. 4.The [Support and Satisfaction] relationship of the subjects and their mothers-in-law is the mediator between the frequency of spouses’ assist in housework and self-confidence of the subjects. The relationship of the subjects and their mothers-in-law is an important role. The frequency of spouses’ assist in housework influence indirectly the subjects confidence of parenting through the [Support and Satisfaction] relationship of the subjects and their mothers-in-law. 5.The backgrounds of the subjects did not influence directly or indirectly important the relationship of subjects and their mothers-in-law and the parenting self-efficacy.
