The research method of the study is narrative analysis. Through interviewing individuals who experienced conflicts, these participants stated the experience in conflicting process and their coping behavior sequences. The participants also explore the correlation of conflict process and intimate relationships. There were four participants who experienced conflicts in intimate relationships for the study, two were male and two were female. According to texts of the narrative analysis, The results of the study shows conflict coping behavior sequence in three different levels, individual, relationship, and gender. A. The unique results of coping behaviors sequences a. In individual level: how an individual focus on issues relates to coping conflict behaviors. b. In relationship level: a) Conflict rising generally comes from a pattern of criticism and debates. Reducing conflicts results in willing to become softener, no matter both or one of a couple. And then the coping behaviors will focus on problem resolving other than emotion expressing. b) The coping behavior sequences of conflicts rising are due to stacking up emotions. The coping behavior sequences of conflict softening result from showing good attitude from both or one of a couple. c. In gender level: conflict coping behavior sequences in intimate relationships shows some differences in different gender. B. The correlation of conflict process and intimate relationship: Three approaches will positively expect relational development, including understanding each other more deeply, seeking deeper awareness, and being willing to change. In conclusion, based on the results as above, the researcher explains the contribution and limitation of the study and recommends some ideas for continuous research and practice.
