However, image data demands a great memory more than article data. Traditionally, the image data transmission usually depends on wire system or on the specifically frequency band radio network. Now, GSM is the broadest and the most stable commercial wireless communication system. In this system, GPRS communication mode is derived for internet to transmit the large packaged data. Since the advantages of GPRS are suitable for image transmission based on the characteristics of fast and stable connection, wide coverage of GSM, and bill by quantity valuation. This thesis studied the (Discrete Cosine Transform, DCT) image compression method. The compressed image is transmitted based on GPRS of GSM system to achieve point to point image transmission. The image for transmission is transformed by DCT in which coefficient are packed by GPRS format with AT command for transmission by a GSM module. The received data are treated by (Inverse Discrete Cosine Transform, IDCT) to decompress to get the images.
