Summary: | 碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 電機工程學系 === 98 === In the recent years, the current-limited resistors electrical discharge loop controlled by transistors is widely used in the Electrical Discharge Machine industry. However the power really used in electrical discharge machines is only about 30%, and the other 70% is wasted on current-limited resistors. This results in low efficiency and can’t meet the need of energy-saving and carbon decrease. So this thesis proposes a high efficiency electrical discharge power module with high voltage regulation. When an EDM starts to work, a high DC voltage is applied to induct an arc. Then the output voltage of power converter falls in order to decrease unneeded power waste for power-saving. In addition a linear power MOSFET is used to produce desired currents to replace the current-limited resistors. Experimental result proves that the proposed high efficiency electrical discharge power module can improve the power converting efficiency of EDM from 33% to about 68%.
