Further, it was to comprehend the requirement and expectation of the parents. This study proceeded by the investigation of questionnaire. Two hundred and eight parents coming from four counties in central Taiwan participated in this study. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, independent samples t-tset, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe’method. The major findings of this research are as follows: 1. Parents of first-grade mentally retarded students in vocational high schools felt satisfied with 12-Year Educational Placement. 2. As for the satisfaction with 12-Year Educational Placement, there was no significant difference among parents with different sex, education level, degree of participation in ITP, etc. 3. The first three suggestions from the parents were: firstly, increase the number of the special education class in vocational high school; secondly, appreciate teachers' efforts; thirdly, hope that teachers can provide their children with more helps for them to get a job easily after graduation.
