Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 98 === International Logistics Port is the window of economy and trade in a country. Logistics service providers can provide warehousing, transportation, logistics, and value-added services for industrial logistics in the International Logistics Port; and further, it could improve operating performance of these companies. This research empirically investigates the importance of criteria for operating the business in the International Logistics Port from the perspective of the logistics service providers. Results suggest respondents viewed the most important ten criteria are custom clearance efficiency, availability of Free Trade Zone, operating cost, completeness of the lines, geo-location, information system infrastructure, administration efficiency, corporate tax, timeliness, and port charge. Additional, different business characteristics are partial significant different from different criteria.
On the other side, this research also investigated International Logistics Zone’s performances in Taiwan and in Hong Kong. Taiwan has the advantage in infrastructure related criteria. Hong Kong has a strong competitive edge in transportation linkage criteria. Importance-performance matrix will use in analysis the strength and the weakness both in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Theoretical and practical implications of the research findings are discussed.
