President Ma declaired that military should regard drowning saving as important as facing the real war. After all, the duties of military police are not just protecting our president, but also taking responsibility of defending our nationals’life security. Therefore, swimming is the essential ability of military police. However, of all 12,000 military police in Taiwan, about 55 precents cannot pass 50 meter long swimming test. To refer to the expectation of President Ma, the passing rate of military must be raised to 80 percents. It reveals that reinforcing swimming ability has become a major task of military police. This article tries to identify the weakness of training process, teachers, and field of military police through combining literature review, opinions of experts and a questionnaire survey developed by author. Then, based on it, we provide 12 useful, efficient strategies including: hunting professional swimmers to complete stage objective, constructing the right concepts through education, setting swimming as an entrance exam, raising interest to exclude fear, attending swimming competetions, holding teaching lecture and training, usnig local recources to increase training force, training in proper sequences by scheduled progress, holding exams regularly and take results in checking system, and raising saving energy to supporting local disaster.
