Summary: | 碩士 === 國立暨南國際大學 === 管理學院經營管理碩士學位學程碩士在職專班 === 98 === Recently, many studies make use of the concept of network, which was originally applied to sociology, in business and industry to probe into the social relation which is brought about by business network - business network embeddedness. Today, Business Management stresses in supply chain management principles, from which business network embeddedness is found between upstream suppliers and downstream customers. At the stage of global market, the competitors and partners of business companies are not limited within the same nationality. There are suppliers and customers from multiple countries; in consequence, cultural differences would cause congenital distance between business companies.
TFT-LCD industry is one of Taiwan’s major industries, which is a capital-intensive and technology-intensive high-tech industry. TFT-LCD panel production in Taiwan has exceeded 45% of the world, and its upstream suppliers and downstream customers spread through the world. This study takes TFT-LCD industry as a target to precede the discussion.
This study will focus on revealing the cooperation between enterprises established under the social concept, and further discuss on its influence on business achievement. Also, the study will investigate the relation of business network embeddedness under the concept of cultural differences through a qualitative research method. The participants are the senior workers of the leading enterprises of TFT-LCD industry. The data will be collected from the interview with the participants; and the results will be gained through the analysis of the data.
The results of this study show that, in TFT-LCD industry, business network embeddedness has positive influence on business achievement. Second, in measuring the cultural differences, the results show that either being lower in the power distance or weaker in the uncertainty avoidance, the influence of business network embeddedness on business achievement will be enhanced. Individualism/Collectivism is not found having any effect on business achievement. The culture which has long-term orientation will enhance the effect of business network embeddedness on business achievement.
