We use CO2 laser machining microstructure on the polymer plate to get the mold, It’s can be easier change microstructure shape and arrangement, then PDMS cast into this polymer mold and de-mold to mass produce and reduce process time. This process can get better optical properties.
We use CO2 laser fabricate microstructure and the microstructure shape and arrangement limit by foil mask. It also improved the problem of bugle by laser. The effects of laser linear energy density with microstructure shape are discussed. And the optical properties of various microstructure shape and microstructure arrangement are analyzed. Foil mask assisted CO2 laser process can get a light guide plate that has uniformity 78%, consist of a diffusion plate and two prism plate, and the uniformity of commercial products is 75%.
Casting PDMS solvent in different PMMA mold, that has various microstructure shape and arrangement. The effects of optical properties of various microstructure shape and arrangement are analyzed. The best uniformity of PDMS light guide plate is 76% without diffusion and prism plate and has flexible property. It can be used in backlight unit on flexible display.
