This converter has the advantages of high efficiency and high conversion ratio by using the coupled-inductor and cascoded technique. Additionally, the energy of leakage inductor can be transferred to the output terminal. Therefore the stress of the power devices can be reduced and the whole efficiency can be increased. The analysis of operating principle of the proposed converter is presented in this thesis. Then, the turn-ratio of the coupled-inductor is discussed for voltage gain and efficiency of the proposed converter. Finally, a prototype circuit with input voltage 24 V, output voltage 200 V and output power 100 W is simulated and implemented to verify the performance of the proposed converter.
