碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 都市計劃學系碩博士班 === 98 === To revive the decline of city, urban renew as one of the methods to revitalize urban functions in the process of urban redevelopment. However, the current development of city has against with the concept of urban renew. There are many renewal areas isolated with the spatial context and reflected as an individual area lacking of comprehensive development. To conclude the reasons of this phenomenon, the city will decline constantly if the entire space cannot integrate effectively among the areas. Therefore, the urban space and fabrics are unable to form effectively. According to the 5th article of the “Enforcement Rules of the Urban Renewal Act” and the urban renewal booklet from the Construction and Planning Agency, a renewal unit should located in a complete planned block and the scale should be at least 1000 or 1500 m2 (depending on the county and city). Because of the current old downtown areas in Taiwan have the different scale demands, the inflexible delineation method will affect the sense of city. Therefore, this research aims to provide a method that integrates the renewal plans which with the delimitation mechanism. In addition, this research investigates the urban form and fabrics from the perspective of urban design for the delineation method of the renewal units. Those delimitation methods which include seeking the location and design methods that based on the features of municipal, region and construction. After a further discussion on the factors for the forming of spatial structure and urban typology, a fundamental principle has been established. Additionally, the factors which form the existing spatial are utilized as the reference for the delineation, so the scope of the renewal unit should not be established without the logic of the existing spatial form. Thus, the process of delimitation for the renewal units will be a reference for the prospect authority in the planning of urban renewal methods.
