In the twenty-first century global warming reveals the problem of CO2 emissions causing a lot of a serious damage to the global environment. According to statistics, Taiwan annually releases of 250,000 tonnes of CO2 in the atmosphere. Energy consumption (daily) and the production of construction materials occupied about 27% of energy consumption at the total of CO2 emissions. It shows that CO2 reduction on everyday use is the key to promote sustainable development. ISO15686-5 : Whole Life Cycle Cost (WLC) states that the operational phase accounts for about 70% time of the life cycle illustrated the existing buildings at the stage of operational phase in the life cycle cost with key impact. 90% of the life time stay in the broad sense of interior space indicates the importance of indoor environment, thus the improvement of indoor environmental quality is to increase environmental comfort, for not only the basic health protection of workers rights, but also take into account the amount of CO2 reduction and life cycle cost.
In this study” A study on environmental efficiency adapted an aspect of CO2 reduction for existing buildings in Taiwan-Taking the indoor environmental health as an example” by collecting the relevant literature review and theories with application of appropriate life cycle costing methods to quantitate related CO2 emissions. After cases verification, the construction of the efficient calculation for Taiwan's existing buildings is to improve indoor health environment.
Purposes
1. Develop existing buildings to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide to improve the efficiency of indoor environmental health environmental assessment projects Groups.
2. Analysis to evaluate the existing built environment to improve the efficiency of the priority items.
3. The establishment of the existing built environment to improve efficiency calculation.
4. To provide an indoor environment for building better decision-making mode.
The calculated results compared with the expert advice showed a high correlation. It can provide a better priorities in the decision-making when the existing buildings need to be improved and re-decorated in the future.
